Description:    Prerequisite: For educators who participated in the June 18-19 Balanced Literacy Series with Elizabeth Olsen at Kaskaskia College. 
Morning Session: Guided Reading in Action! 
Now that you have had an introduction to the best practice principles of Guided Reading, come and see it in action! We will enjoy and discuss videos of Guided Reading Lessons. Feel affirmed, lift your confidence, and take away gems that will make you an even better facilitator of Guided Reading groups. 
Afternoon Session: Practice Makes Perfect: Literacy Work Stations and Independent Reading
What is the rest of the class doing while you are at the Guided Reading table? Let's learn more about the purpose and structures of Literacy Work Stations and Independent Reading. Let's share Literacy Work Stations and Independent Reading ideas! Each participant is encouraged to bring one Literacy Work Station idea to show and tell.
