At the Regional Office of Education #13 (ROE #13), we are dedicated to supporting the success of educators, students, and families across Clinton, Jefferson, Marion, and Washington Counties. Serving a vibrant four-county region with 45 public school districts and 12 private schools, we are proud to provide essential services that uphold and enhance the quality of education.

Our Mission

Our mission is to provide high-quality educational support and community services that have a positive and measurable impact on student achievement, teacher performance and school leadership. The purpose of our office is to support, promote, and advocate for the schools we serve. It is our goal to set and meet the highest expectations of educational offerings and performance. It is our belief that excellence in education and appropriate rigor brings opportunity and ultimately improves the quality of life in the communities we serve.

What We Do

ROE #13 operates in accordance with the Illinois School Code to deliver a wide range of regulatory and educational services, including:

  • School Recognition and Inspection: We inspect and approve public schools annually to ensure compliance with state standards and maintain educational excellence.

  • Alternative Education for At-Risk Students: Our programs provide tailored support to help at-risk students achieve their academic and personal goals.

  • Professional Growth Opportunities: We offer professional development programs to equip educators and administrators with tools to excel in their roles.

  • Truancy Law Enforcement: Partnering with schools and families, we work to address truancy issues and promote consistent attendance for all students.

  • Teacher and Administrator Licensure: ROE #13 ensures the proper licensure of educators and administrators to maintain high teaching standards.

  • GED Transcripts and Diplomas: We assist individuals in obtaining their GED transcripts and diplomas to open new pathways to education and employment.
