Do you feel you don’t understand all the sections of the IEP? Do you feel you know everything there is to know about writing and implementing an IEP? If you answered Yes to either of these questions, this workshop is for you! How can it be both? I thought I knew EVERYTHING about writing and implementing IEPs, after all I have over 25 years experience as a special educator. However, I found out there is so much more! In this PD, you will learn the basics of each page, what your responsibility is in implementing the IEP, why it is important to be as clear as possible, and what advocates are telling their parent clients to look for!

Whether you are a general or special education teacher, this will help you have a better understanding of and how to write and implement IEPs that truly provide FAPE while meeting
the unique needs of the child and preparing them for further education, employment, and independent living.

Understanding Behavior: Lessons for  Lifetime (General and Special Educators)
Every day our interactions are based on lots of different bits of information. Our behaviors are the communication of those bits of information. Not just our behaviors, but the behaviors of every person with whom we interact. Every behavior, whether wanted or unwanted, positive or negative, is communicating something. How we respond to that communication will determine the outcome of the conversation. This professional development will teach you how to recognize your own communication as well as those around you. You will learn ways to improve your mental health and make the classroom environment a place where every student feels welcome and safe which will in turn create more wanted behaviors from your students.
