Description: | Are you frustrated because your students do not think critically and have difficulty problem solving? Are they disengaged? If so, this is the workshop for you! Dr. Kelly Stewart will help define critical thinking and cognitive engagement based on Rebecca Sobaugh's book, 50 Strategies to Boost Cognitive Engagement: Creating and Thinking Culture in the Classroom. Dr. Elizabeth Corzine and Dr. Crystal Haselhorst will model these strategies throughout the workshop and provide suggestions for ways they can be used in the classroom. This will be a hands-on workshop where you will have the opportunity to participate in using these strategies first-hand. Walk away with useful strategies at your fingertips to encourage students to think and problem solve on their own and be actively engaged in their learning. | |
