Description: |
There are many things about our students that we cannot control and their socioeconomic background is one of them. Their life outside of school can cause gaps in how we view them and how we respond to the condition of poverty. In this workshop, we will explore how schools and their staffs can bridge some of these gaps by taking action that is "On Purpose" and "For Good". Charley Cass is a survivor of generational poverty and has experienced mobility to the middle class as a school administrator. His childhood and the lessons learned have been chronicled in his new book entitled, Leaving Poverty On Purpose and For Good. Each participant will receive a copy of the book.
